250 Students Avail of TESDA Scholarships
Negros Occidental — At least 250 Bacolod City students, availed of the various Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) scholarships.
The scholars were enrolled in specific schools in Bacolod that are offering their preferred courses, a release from the City Information Office said.
These schools and courses are: Asian Business Institute of e-Technology—Massage Therapy and Visual Graphic Design; College of Arts and Sciences of Asia and the Pacific—Bookkeeping; First Academy of Skills and Technology, Inc.—Beauty Care Services, Food and Beverage Services, Hilot (Wellness Massage), and Housekeeping;
International Electronics and Technical Institute, Inc.—Shielded Metal Arc Welding, and Electronic Installation and Maintenance; Lasaltech, Inc.-Bacolod—Bookkeeping, Computer Systems Servicing, and Visual Graphic Design; Pearl Manor Skills Academy, Inc.—Bread and Pastry Production and Cookery;
Philippine Organized Workforce for Economic Recovery Foundation, Inc.—Shielded Metal Arc Welding; University of St. La Salle, Inc.—Cookery and Massage Therapy; Victory Business College—Beauty Care Services, Cookery and Dressmaking; and VMA Global College—Cookery and Shielded Metal Arc Welding.
Scholars joined the pre-orientation program at the Bacolod Government Center, that was also attended by Bacolod Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya, Mayor Evelio Leonardia, and other officials.
The Bacolod congressional office has 331 slots for TESDA scholarships and 81 slots are yet to be filled.
Gasataya, in his message to the scholars said the scholarship program is a continuation of the same program by Leonardia, his predecessor adding that, “those who have less in life should have more opportunities”. (JCM/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
