2016 Paskuhan Festival Features Nightly Variety Shows

The 2016 Paskuhan Festival of the city government highlights a series of nightly variety shows with performances from students and local artists.

Mayor Romeo P. Pulmones in a press conference held recently at the New Executive Function Hall disclosed that the variety show features musical performances, dances, comedy shows, and magic among others.

For a truly unforgettable Christmas experience, Pulmones said the public is invited to watch the nightly variety shows and give delightful moments to families to enjoy the Yuletide season.

The Paskuhan kicked off Friday night with fireworks display that lighted the sky and dazzled Pagadianons who came with their families.

He said for this year, the light-a-tree and light-a-barangay hall contest have not been included due to budget constraints.

“For this year, we did not push through with the light-a-barangay hall contest because the barangays have no budget for the activity,” Pulmones said, adding that they are focused on President Duterte’s war on illegal drugs.

The contests are the highlights of “Paskuhan,” a month-long celebration organized by the city government at the premises of Plaza Luz to make the spirit of Christmas definitely alive and felt by the people thru the display of Christmas symbols.

“Even without these activities, people can still feel the spirit of Christmas if Christ is truly in their hearts,” Mayor Pulmones said. (ALT/GCC/PIA-Pagadian City)
