2014 Press Ganey Nurse Nominates Pinay Nurse
Filipina RN Maritess De La Cruz learned that AdvantageCare Physicians had nominated her for the 2014 Press Ganey Nurse of the Year Award after a ceremony held at the Lincoln Square medical office.
Rob Warburton, AVP of Business Intelligence, broke the good news along with a framed certificate commemorating her nomination and an invitation to attend the Press Ganey National Care Conference where the winner will be announced.
R.N. De La Cruz is the first ACP nurse to be nominated for this prestigious award, given annually to recognize an outstanding direct care nurse who has gone above and beyond in his or her role and has demonstrated care innovation, transformation and collaboration that supports an exceptional patient experience.
Eveth Green, regional nurse director for the ACP Manhattan region, said De La Cruz makes an extra effort to bring a smile to the patients’ face.”
“She is able to strongly empathize with very sick patients and their families while remaining calm herself, thinking clearly and rationally and controlling her emotions,” Eveth wrote in her letter of nomination.
Maritess said that “No one can teach you how to be compassionate to people.”
A nurse for more than 20 years who consistently earns high Press Ganey scores, Maritess first received her nursing license in the Philippines and expanded her nursing skills while employed throughout Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
