2 Top Drug Personalities in Mandaue Killed in Police Ops
Two “top drug personalities” in Mandaue City were shot in two separate police operations early on Wednesday, while another was wounded after he was shot by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen Tuesday night.
Elvin Sison, 32, a nephew of Mandaue City Councilor Carmelino Del Mar, was killed after he was shot by policemen, who were serving a search warrant against him around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Police Officer 1 Ryan Heyrosa of Mandaue Police Station 1, was wounded in the incident.
Police said Sison, top 1 in the drug watch list of Police Station 1, first fired his firearm, prompting the policemen to shoot back.
He suffered several gunshot wounds in the body, resulting in his death.
In Barangay Umapad, Raymond Bolanon, 24, suffered three gunshot wounds in his chest.
Police said Bolanon, who is also number 1 in the Mandaue Police Station 5 drug watch list, was shot dead by the police after he first fired his .22 revolver past 5 a.m. Wednesday.
On Tuesday night, Joseph Rata, 45, a top 5 drug personality in the list of Mandaue Police Station 2, was wounded after he was shot by two gunmen onboard motorcycle.
Rata was rushed to a hospital in Cebu City for treatment. (PNA) LAP/EB/EDS
