2 Schools Want to Expand at SRP

(PNA) — Sage Prep Schoolhouse Inc. and Cambridge Child Development Centre for Progress Corp. have expressed interest to lease an area at the Cebu City Government-owned South Road Properties (SRP) for their expansion plans.

The president and superintendent of both schools, Jacqueline Hayley Limtin, in a proposal to the Cebu City Council, said they would want to lease an 8,000-square meter area for 25 years with an option to renew for another 25 years for Php20 per square meter, excluding road right-of-way.

“For the rent increase, we propose zero percent for 10 years, five percent increase on the 11th year and every two years henceforth,” Limtin said.

They have also requested a zero percent rent in the first year during the construction phase of the school building and other facilities.

Limtin said the new Sage and Cambridge Cebu campus will be an asset to the Cebu City community. She said they have prepared for a development loan particularly earmarked for school development.

“Sage Prep Schoolhouse is a corporation that operates a private school. It was started in response to the first preschool we opened in Cebu — Cambridge Child Development Centre,” Limtin said.

She said both schools utilize a mix of local and international curriculum in offering childhood education programs.

Both schools are owned and run by the same management.

Cambridge, a Singapore international preschool franchise, operates two centers – one in Lahug, Cebu City since 2003 and one in Banawa, Cebu City since 2012.

Sage Prep Schoolhouse Inc. was established in 2007 due to the need to continue the progressive education approach of its sister preschool, Cambridge. (PNA) SCS/EB
