2 Cebu Grads Top May 2017 CPA Exams, 7 Others Land in Top Ten
Two graduates of a Cebu university topped the May 2017 licensure examinations for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), while seven others landed in the top ten.
Vianca Pearl Inot Amores and Marianito Jesus Berdin del Rio, who are second cousins and both graduates of the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu City, topped the CPA exams with a rating of 92.67 percent.
Amores, 20, a native of Barangay Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City, graduated summa cum laude from USC in April 2017.
Amores is the second of three children of Lapu-Lapu City Councilor Ricardo Amores.
Del Rio, on the other hand, graduated magna cum laude during the same graduation rites in USC.
The result was released by the Professional Regulations Commission’s Board of Accountancy Monday night, five working days after the last day of the board examination.
The other USC graduates in the top ten are Jessa Comar Bermudo, who placed second with a rating of 92.50 percent; Alyanna Kate Varga Buenavista and Maaku Wamar Saito, who placed fourth with a rating of 91.83 percent; and Christiemay Verano Vertudazo, who placed ten with a rating of 90 percent.
The other three graduates from Cebu who landed in the top ten are graduates of the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR).
They are Harold Panerio Pacana, who landed in sixth place with a rating of p1 percent; Marie Claire Rodis Cortes and Jessele Ann Gingosa Echavez, who both landed in seventh place with a rating of 90.67 percent.
The other topnotchers are Jason Granado Bugatan, a graduate of the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College, in third place with a rating of 92.17 percent; Kevin Cuti Bango, a graduate of Saint Louis University in fifth place with a rating of 91.33 percent;
Bianca Jasmin Rosales Bunyi, a graduate of Olivarez College-Tagaytay City in sixth place with a rating of 91 percent; Jan Michael de Jesus Maglinao, a graduate of Lipa City Colleges and Edison San Pablo San Juan, a graduate of Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Main-Sta. Mesa, in eight place with a rating of 90.50 percent;
Neil Andre Mendez Buladaco, a graduate of the Univeristy of Mindanao-Tagum in ninth place with a rating of 90.33 percent; and Chester Garcia Beluang, a graduate of Ateneo de Naga University in tenth place with a rating of 90 percent. (PNA)
