1st Camiguin Dive Festival Launched

Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 10 launched the 1st Camiguin Dive Festival during the opening day of the 5th International Travel Festival 2018 in Cebu City.

This is along with the launching of Dive Region 10, branding for DOT 10’s dive tourism initiatives in northern Mindanao.

Camiguin Governor Maria Luisa Romulado presented on stage about what Camiguin has to offer in terms of its rich marine biodiversity and its numerous dive sites.

For his part, House Representative Xavier Jesus Romualdo also talked about Camiguin as an ecotourism destination and why it is becoming one of the most popular islands in the country.

In the same occasion, Region 10 Tourism Director Marie Elaine Unchuan, together with Cong. Romualdo, Gov. Romualdo, Provincial Tourism Officer Candice Borromeo-Dael officially declared the start of the 1st Camiguin Dive Festival and Underwater Photography Contest.

The Camiguin Dive Festival Photography Contest is open to all underwater photographers who will visit be Camiguin from August 1 to October 1, 2018.

Participants can register at the Department of Tourism 10 Regional Office or at the Camiguin Tourism Office.

After registration, they can avail of exclusive discounts from DOT accredited partner hotels and PCSSD accredited dive shops and dive operators.

Prices in cash and in kind worth over P300,000 is up for grabs.
