A recent survey shows that fewer Filipinos are optimistic about the country’s economic improvement within the next six months.

OCTA Research’s “Tugon ng Masa” survey conducted from July 22 to 26 found that only 46% of respondents believed the economy would get better. This is lower compared to a similar survey last March 2023 where 50% of respondents have hopes that the economy will improve.

In the same survey, 43% of the people think the economy will stay the same while 6% said it would worsen.

Quality of Life Outlook

The survey also asked respondents about their perception of their quality of life in the next six months.

A majority, 55%, believed their quality of life would improve, which was similar to the 54% obtained in the March survey.

Meanwhile, only 4% thought their quality of life would worsen, and 36% believed it would remain the same as it is now.

OCTA Research’s “Tugon ng Masa” survey had 1,200 respondents and noted a margin of error of plus or minus 3% for national percentages. This means the survey results might vary by up to three percentage points from the true values. (ASC)
