17,000 Local, Overseas Jobs At Stake In Mandaue City Pre-Labor Day Job Fair
A total of 17,639 local and overseas jobs are at stake in the pre-Labor Day job fair Wednesday afternoon at the Mandaue City Sports Complex, an official said.
Exequiel Sarcauga, Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) 7 director, said President Benigno S. Aquino III is set to grace the job fair at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
He said the job fair in Mandaue City is one of 44 such activities nationwide.
Sarcauga said here in Cebu City, 30 local employers and 16 overseas employers are participating in the job fair.
Among the jobs offered are for construction, electronic assembly, masonry, carpentry, welding, tile setting, hotel and restaurant and medical care.
Sarcauga said President Aquino will also honor six former overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have come home to be with their families and are now teachers with the Department of Education.
The President will later join a campaign sortie of the Liberal Party with presidential standard bearer Mar Roxas and runningmate Representative Leni Robredo in front of the Cebu Capitol in Cebu City. (PNA) LAP/EB/EDS
