15 Thousand Supporters Expected to Join BOPK Gathering Tonight
Roads to Capitol ordered closed to vehicles
Roads leading to the Provincial Capitol have been closed since earlier this afternoon in anticipation of the Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) supporters as they flock to attend the scheduled political rally where President Aquino himself is expected to come.
The entire southbound stretch of Escario street and all roads leading to Capitol are closed to vehicular traffic until 9p.m. today. As of this posting, BOPK supporters are braving the scorching heat of the sun as they walk towards the Capitol to witness the grand rally.
At least 15,000 supporters are expected to join the gathering of BOPK. Meanwhile, at least nine senatorial candidates from the Liberal Party will join the President. Local candidates like LP gubernatorial bet Hilario Davide III, his running mate, acting governor Agnes Magpale and BOPK stalwart and Cebu City south district Rep. Tomas Osmeña are also said to be there today.
