14th Annual World Monggo Day
Pusod, the organization of Cebu Visual Artists Incorporated presents the 14th Annual World Monggo Day on December 13, 2014 at the Turtle’s Nest, 8:00pm.
Monggo day is a long running celebration of the poor man’s food that was first organized on 2000 by Pusod. The event featured different types of recipes that used monggo as the main ingredient. The event also featured art exhibits from local artists, a costume party and a concert.
This year will have performances from bands such as Andrei and the Royal Kartel, Cosmic Kid, Great White Gentlemen, Noname, The Pervs, Wico and other surprise groups that they will be surprise that they will be performing.
The Great White Gentlemen is a UP Cebu based rock band who likes to play songs that people don’t always play. The band is composed of vocalsBayani Miguel Acebedo, bass guitarist Joshua Luke Aquino, guitarist John Jewell Diño and drummer Fidel Laurence Ricafranca.
The Pervs was born on the 4th of July (2008), and believes that as a band, they are always reminded that independence comes with a price – a price they are paying in painful installments to a declining hegemony while being taught otherwise; and ignorance, made into a standard. With that, The Pervs still refuse to fall in a straight line into a tight wind of social constructs and indifference. The band is composed of Ernest in vocals, Bugz on guitars, Rapi on bass and Karl on drums.
