12,000 Jobs Up for Grabs on Independence Day Fair in Tacloban
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has announced the offering of over 12,000 overseas and local jobs on Monday’s Independence Day Job Fair in this city.
At least 25 local employers and four overseas recruitment agencies will be joining the employment fair at the Tacloban Convention Center which will open at 9:00 in the morning. It is one of the activities of the labor department in support to the 119th Philippine Independence Day celebration.
“As we commemorate the Philippine Independence, we offer this job fair to give the unemployed, displaced workers, and the newly graduates the opportunity to find a job,” said DOLE Regional Director Joel Gonzales in a statement.
There are 3,991 local job offerings available in the event to include cashiers, sales associate, engineers, chemists, accountants, electricians, production operators, utility workers, collection and credit supervisors, human resource supervisors, bus conductors, drivers, mechanics, and customer service representatives or agents.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development will also join the job fair with 281 vacancies for area supervisors, enumerators, encoders and verifiers.
The four participating overseas recruitment agencies will offer 8,143 jobs – skilled workers, health care workers, construction workers, office staff, hotel staff, electronic technicians, teachers, drivers, and engineers.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration will only consider those job orders that are for immediate deployment overseas to ensure that applicants could start the work soon.
Gonzales urged interested applicants to visit the Tacloban Public Employment Service Office or the DOLE regional office to pre-register their skills.
He reminded applicants to bring with them documentary requirements such as resume, diploma, and transcript of records, employment certification and other relevant documents.(Sarwell Q. Meniano/PNA)
