10 Things Towards a Better Life
Daily life is a challenge. It is not a “walk in the park” or a “bed of roses”. Amid the victories and triumphs, there and there lie “valleys” which discourage and pull us down from winning the battle. We’re faced with humps and bumps daily as we walk on our lives. It’s not a plain road. This is designed to shape us into a better person. Without these challenges, life can be boring and we will never learn things and appreciate the beauty of life. Here are 10 things that we can think of that can be helpful as we fight and face these “challenges” in our lives. Hope these can help!
1. Dedicate yourself to at least one new positive habit.
Commit to your resolutions! Remember what you wrote down at the beginning of this year and do it. Nothing beats getting the word done, than remaining it dormant to memory loss.
2. Create your own bucket list.
Write down all the things you want to do or accomplish – nothing is too big or too small. You can do it and nothing is impossible. Even the least capable person can do anything, paired with courage and devotion–making one a new person!
3. Drink to your health.
Drinking a tall glass of water first thing in the morning is a tip that helps your body metabolize fat. No more worries for those unnecessary bulges, hydrate it to born. Let’s drink to our health with a clear glass of water and you can also add a slice of lemon for a dose of Vitamin C!
4. Take Vitamin D.
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is needed for our bodies to work efficiently and is absorbed through natural sunlight exposure. Don’t be afraid of those tawny color you’ll get, for it can give you nutrition more than saving a fair skin color. As long as you follow this step (sunlight exposure) during the recommended time of going outside to get that big D, you’re safe!
5. Save up!
Open up a new bank account and religiously deposit 10-15% of your income into it every month. This is money that you will NEVER SPEND for your entire life. As it grows you earn interest, and spend that (or add it to this same account). Once you have a significant amount of money, you can then invest it in something reliable. You can use it already as a down payment for a house.
5. Find your inner child.
Put adventure back into activities and do things that used to make you happy. Be spontaneous and go outdoors to play known Filipino games like “Chinese garter” or “Patintero”.
6. Throw away everything you don’t need.
Go through your house with a trash bag and remove everything that you no longer need. You will immediately feel happier, less stressed, and more motivated to work on other projects. (be sure to look in cabinets, the fridge, and your desk – you will probably need more than one bag). You can donate these in the nearest charity institution in your neighborhood.
7. Be Organized.
If you’re disorganized, get and try reading the book “Getting Things Done : The Art of Stress-Free Productivity”. It will have you organized with a gameplan for staying organized easily within 1-3 days. If you’re already organized, then you can just take a second and gloat.
8. Accept the fact that you will always have problems.
Jump up and down with joy when you get one! Remember that you are always in the beginning, middle, or end of a problem.
9. Avoid energy vampires.
Don’t let others drain you of your energy. Stay away from these people and reach out for something that refreshes you. It may be something like walking down in a garden for a couple of minutes, or writing/ sketching down your dream on a dream book. Negative people can only suck your energy and won’t help you give that positive output you needed.
10. Stop whining.
Take control of your life! Be nice to others. Learn this craft and you will notice that things will start to be in order in you. Rather than murmuring and complaining, which can be an allergen like talked in # 9, look at things on a positive perspective and put an end to negativity. You can do it!
